Coogee House II

Located in the dense, beachside suburb of Coogee, this residence was designed with careful attention to balancing openness with privacy. Surrounded by neighbouring homes yet perched to capture sweeping views of the ocean, the architectural approach had to be both strategic and sensitive. Built for a young family, the home needed to be as practical as it was elegant, robust enough for everyday life while still delivering a refined, light-filled environment. The result is a layered, liveable home that feels open yet protected.

Throughout the interiors, a theme of simplicity and boldness emerges. Clean lines, confident forms, and a focus on natural materials. A key moment in the home is the main bathroom, where our Arashi natural stone slabs were sculpted into a striking freestanding washbasin.

With its deep veining and rich tonal variation, Arashi brings a tactile and visual depth that elevates the minimalist space. It’s a piece that’s both functional and expressive, anchoring the room with quiet strength.

Elsewhere, our Carrara marble slabs were selected for the second bathroom and used across the kitchen island and splash-back. The soft white base and delicate grey veining bring a timeless elegance to these spaces, reinforcing the home’s overall sense of calm and luxury.

Outside, the sandblasted Perla stone was chosen for the pool surrounds, not just for its slip-resistant surface, but for how naturally it sits within the landscaped setting.

Durable, refined, and responsive to its environment, the stone brings a cohesive finish to an outdoor space designed for both relaxation and resilience.
